On April 13, 2016 the seminar "Participation, perception of risk, transfer and exchange of knowledge in environment and health issues", organized by GIOCONDA project, in collaboration with the Office for participation policies of the Tuscany Region, was held in Florence. Representatives of 8 LIFE projects discussed their respective activities to support governance and how to perform knowledge transfer and exchange (KTE). The KTE approaches of the LIFE projects and the critical issues were presented in order to identify strategies aimed at increasing citizens’ awareness on environmental issues and their participation in governance policy.
The scientific research implications and their possible developments in the Italian and European context were also discussed, gathering ideas for new project proposals. Prof. Stefania Tonin of the University IUAV of Venice intervened during the general discussion by explaining the issues addressed by GHOST project and exposing the adopted methodologies for involvement and communication to stakeholders and citizens.
