The project GHOST entered the last year of activity. After completing the ALDFG mapping in the outcrops located off Veneto coastal area and after developing appropriate procedures for their recovery, it is now time to define the most effective preventive measures and the most suitable procedures for a proper delivery and disposal of the retrieved fishing gears, and ultimately for their possible reuse.
These issues will be addressed during the project meeting scheduled on 11 December at Palazzo Badoer (Tafuri room), San Polo 2468, Venice, at 9:00 am.
The main aim of the event is to update the project stakeholders on the results achieved so far by the project and to present some recent experiences on waste fishery management carried on in the northern Adriatic Sea in the framework of different projects and local initiatives. A panel discussion will allow a thorough analysis and an exchange of views on the most effective strategies for a proper management of ghost nets in the Veneto Region.
The Badoer Palace venue is easily reached on foot from Venice railway and the Piazzale Roma following the instructions reported at the link: http://www.iuav.it/Ateneo1/Sedi/Sedi-venez/palazzo-Ba/
